 Relaxing on a Saturday evening. Breaking up the Lemon Balm is a rather chill activity. Seeds to be sown later, stems in the sun tea, leaves in the tea and in the pipe. Very nice.

On other fronts: friends making a massive fam move to Colorado. I d/k if Colorado is ready for what amounts to the Brady bunch on acid. Then again, nevermind. I'm sure Colorado is ready for that.

The small things mean everything. Following the storms out here in East Texas the garden(s) came back to life. One of the highlights, of course, was these nectarines. Nectarines and peaches are very similar except that nectarines lack as much fuzz and have a slight sweeter flavor. I'm going to attempt a decent nectarine and plum pie. Cobbler had been the idea but I'm planning on taking it with to share on a weekend campout. Cobbler is best, imo, with ice cream and still a bit hot from the oven. The cobbler I've made in the past which I did keep for a day or so in a simple cooler, I regretted. Perhaps pie will turn out a little better. I'm still waiting on enough strawberries for a strawberry/rhubarb pie which is a pie I love.

Marc Emery is being held as a political prisoner of the U.S. in an attempt to silence one of the major critics of it's failed drug war policies. Presently the U.S. is in a stage of upheaval over state and federal drug laws regarding the products of the Cannabis plant and the plant itself. The United States policy towards Cannabis has been skewed since it's inception. With advances in technology a broader range of the public has been exposed to the truths behind the failed 'Drug War' in the U.S. Marc Emery was using legitimate means to help support the furthering of this knowledge when he was tricked by the U.S. government and subsequently handed over by Canadian authorities. He is presently serving time in a U.S. correctional facility and has been denied return transfer to his home country of Canada. This is most likely due to the fact that Canada has lesser priority on Cannabis as a crime and Marc may have been able to obtain an early release within his home country. The U.S. is making a statement of power in global politics by the detainment of Marc Emery.

The U.S. government of bureaucracy and corporations is also presently trying to obtain rights towards extractions from the Cannabis plant as well. Many believe that the only reason for continued criminalization of the Cannabis plant and it's derivatives is to secure a monopoly on the commodities on behalf of certain parties. Cannabis is easily grown by the individual and many of it's extracts and commodities can be easily obtained in the raw. Marc Emery was a seed salesman of the Cannabis plant. Providing the raw seed for individuals to cultivate themselves served as a threat to the U.S. government of bureaucracy and corporation. Presently the U.S. is also moving towards changes in federal policies towards other natural and easily grown plants and crops. The changes would also hinder the attempts of the individual to provide for self.

I'm happy

My first attempt at making seed arrangement jars.Each one comes with a picture guide and handwritten instructions on planting and what seed is what. Come spring the jar can be emptied and planted. Then, fill the jar back up with one's own harvest of flower seeds. A gift that keeps giving!

This is the type of gift my friends/family get along with various tasty sundries and drinks.



The back garden symbolizes the end of one life phase and a movement towards another at this point. I always get bummed when the winter blows in and it all dies;however,like anyone who grows a garden(s) knows, it's also thrilling to be back at a blank 'canvas'.

Craftroom,moved part of the drying racks inside amongst my many other projects.

Jar O' Plenty:There's enough seeds in there to cover a small field and enough that the ratio of viable/non-viable will be just fine until this coming spring.

This was a small town Christmas parade. They created an additional theme to go on top of the Christmas theme. They named it ... 'A Red,White, and Blue Christmas'. Yes, that is Santa riding a missile. They even had all the kids decked out in patriotic matching t-shirts and tiny USA flags for people to wave.
