As a resolute matter ... the subjects of zoology, botany, horticulture, and chemistry have become penciled in for goals in the new year for this individual.
I take it as strong medicine that we are facing on a global scale, the indications of our own extinction. Deny it or not, this pattern reverberates on the consciousness of daily life en mass. 'Our people', this diaspora of culture, color, continent ... is in trouble. Taken to simplest form, WE,human being male and female, are up shit creek. That is the common knowledge underlying our actions. "Don't need a phd to sling the street philosophy". Some of the animals enjoy a better perch but as geology and history prove, perches collapse. Like ideas, and that's the positive side.
The negative is the negative and it's common sense. The uncommon arises from recognition of the obvious but the initiative to change it. Action is indeed virtue.
I will not go into how this is actually reproduced as a philosophy of survival on the microscope level. Most thoughts are produced after the fact of physical intervention between the host body and the soul inhabiting it. The rest is left up to religion or pondering under a coconut tree.
I do my part, you do yours. That's the science behind the madness.
We've done a pretty good job of breaking that down, actually. We are in fact, pretty f'n smart. Despite the maniacal ramblings, the tomes of absolute, the plan man, the restriction, constriction, and suffocation, of our collective and wonderful knowledge .... we've shown a terrible tenacity to the truth. Look it up.
So, this interest in a focus of sciences is beneficial to my overall life goal. It should behoove me to pursue specialties and concentrate my efforts towards obtainable, perches. Perches allow a vertical perspective. All cats can have perches and all cats are smart. If the perch drops, the scene doesn't change, just the situation. Still, a cat.
Life is a maze, a message is a matrix. Resolution number uno, learn more, reallllly, learn more.

Lately I've become interested in all sorts of outdoorsy, grow your own, live with the earth type ideas. Personally I believe it would behoove peoples of all shapes and sizes to get with it. The majority of us human beings are being hung out to dry and if we do not step up to the plate on our own, no one is going to for us. Rather, the ones we have left at the helm are sinking the ship. Can't trust em' as far as you can throw a piece of cellophane and the good peoples interests are not at heart. Time to bone up on being real.

Virgin forests, cities of beautiful animals, cities to an innumerable variety of colorful birds, flying in freedom; they provided food for everyone. Our ancestors lived to be over 100 years old, free from contagion and illnesses. They were respectful and obedient to the laws of our Creator.
Let us talk now about our present times. We enjoy new advances in technology, inventions that make everyday life easier for us, we all use them, but the negative side is that we are finishing up our forests, and contributing to the contamination of the planet, the rivers are drying out, the waters are being contaminated. Our crops are affected by plagues as well as plagues killing our animals. We are threatened by contagious illnesses, incurable illnesses unknown in the past. Very harmful are the use of chemicals, the insecticides, transgenic seeds, etc. And most of all, these days, the nuclear testing: nuclear bombs and a great deal of war weapons, and the war in itself sterilizing or killing the planet Earth and affecting all living beings. Many people are homeless, children begging in the streets, others are involved in prostitution. Predators are on the rise. Dead people appearing daily in the streets, kidnappings, extortion, shootings in the schools, parents killing children, children killing children, parents raping their own kids. All this is a direct result of the contamination. There is no respect; no respect for life. The authorities sell themselves. The justice can be bought or sold.
Now lets speak about the future. We, the traditional Mayan elders, and all indigenous peoples in the world, meditate on the future. We don’t think only for today, the present, we think for tomorrow, for our children, grand children and future generations. We see a dark shadow approaching, a shadow that will cause a lot of harm. It is the great contamination. All this is due to man’s creation. We are digging our own graves. Wars are being transported to other countries; they reason in their speeches it is on behalf of freedom, but the result is more slavery. They speak that it will bring new development, but the result is more hunger for the underdeveloped countries. If we continue like this, the time will come when there are no more soldiers to form battalions. The Maya National Council of Elders of Guatemala ask all nations of the world – their governors and the governed ones – to put a stop to the contamination; and to the big and small enterprises, to find alternatives. We don’t want any more wars, no more death, no more nuclear testing, no more chemicals, because the warming up of the planet is unbearable to Mother Earth. The Commission of Inquiry on Crimes Against Humanity Committed by the Bush Administration will release its final verdict on Wednesday, September 13, 2006.
The final verdict will address the five indictments dealing with the Bush administration's wars of aggression, illegal detention and torture, destruction of the global environment through global warming, imposition of abstinence-only on AIDS prevention programs in the Third World, and the abandonment of New Orleans before, during and after Hurricane Katrina.
On September 13, the verdict will be formally served on the White House and the Department of Justice, read over the radio across the country, and released in printed form for national distribution.
Following the release of the verdict, the Commission is calling a national "Bush Crimes Day" on Tuesday, September 19. Inspired by the verdict of the Bush Crimes Commission, campuses and communities across the country will organize public events, from teach-ins to street-theatre, that draw attention to acts of the Bush administration that, by their scope and nature, shock the conscience of humankind -- and bring to the fore our moral and political responsibility to bring these horrific crimes to a halt!

Bush and his administration have committed crimes against humanity." Bush guilty of war crimes and crimes against humanity?"

Having seen a few performances from one of the players in the past I'm sure that the entire cast creates a powerful presentation. The subject matter of the play is sure to put some juice in the ol' thinking cap. I wish I could go to the play but cannot. The proverbial capitalist dominatrix has been whipping me lately and I have no change to travel. The show is free with voluntary donations so the only payback the players get for working so diligently is that of full seats and a packed house. Well worth an evening out on the town.

The Illinois General Assembly is about to rock the nation. Members of state legislatures are normally not considered as having the ability to decide issues with a massive impact to the nation as a whole. Representative Karen A. Yarbrough of Illinois' 7th District is about to shatter that perception forever. Representative Yarbrough stumbled on a little known and never utlitized rule of the US House of Representatives, Section 603 of Jefferson's Manual of the Rules of the United States House of Representatives, which allows federal impeachment proceedings to be initiated by joint resolution of a state legislature. From there, Illinois House Joint Resolution 125 (hereafter to be referred to as HJR0125) was born.
Detailing five specific charges against President Bush including one that is specified to be a felony, the complete text of HJR0125 is copied below at the end of this article. One of the interesting points is that one of the items, the one specified as a felony, that the NSA was directed by the President to spy on American citizens without warrant, is not in dispute. His cronies in the Republican dominated congress will probably save him from the embarassment of an impeachment conviction, for now, but his Presidency will be all but finished.

The Illinois General Assembly is about to rock the nation. Members of state legislatures are normally not considered as having the ability to decide issues with a massive impact to the nation as a whole. Representative Karen A. Yarbrough of Illinois' 7th District is about to shatter that perception forever. Representative Yarbrough stumbled on a little known and never utlitized rule of the US House of Representatives, Section 603 of Jefferson's Manual of the Rules of the United States House of Representatives, which allows federal impeachment proceedings to be initiated by joint resolution of a state legislature. Detailing five specific charges against President Bush including one that is specified to be a felony, the complete text of HJR0125 is copied below at the end of this article. One of the interesting points is that one of the items, the one specified as a felony, that the NSA was directed by the President to spy on American citizens without warrant, is not in dispute. Note: I am pessimistic in the extreme on this. If we were in fact operating within the law the monkeyboy would have been gone by now. Big Bo
Last week my son had a career day at school. The grand prop and distinguished guest was Bo Pilgrim. What he told me about Bo's speech set off my triggers instantly. It floored me and I wanted to promptly kick some pilgrim ass.
He bragged about how much he loves GWB, how he's even had him over for dinner, emphasized how important it is that we protect ourselves from the terrorists and how noble it is to go to war for freedom, that the only reason for his success is Jesus Christ, attempted to hand out bibles ( as related, he was blocked by school staff from that action), and then handed out free copies of his crap book. They had to watch patriotic chicken films as well (from what I gather).
First, son ditched the book which was a big oops. That thing is selling for 16.99 on the internet. He could have made a few bucks not to mention I would just love to read the thoughts of the mutant Bo and see how well they line up with other propaganda. In fact I really just wanted the collection of pictures in the book for assorted graphic shennanigans.
Henrietta. That's the chicken that's Bo's pet. I asked son if the mutant had his hat and his chicken. He did! This prompted me to question the aging of chickens. Is this in fact the same Henrietta? My logic tells me that a chicken killing factory mogul probably has Henrietta slain when she starts to droop around the eyes. Kind of like people who get different dogs but always end up naming them the same ( really, they're out there).
But then a thought occured to me. "Did Henrietta move at all?" I asked. No he said, no come to think of it, not at all he said. There's another breed of people who have their pets glorified at the taxidermists. The Pooky will be with us forever people. They freak me out. Like really freak me out. I can't imagine going to dinner at a strangers house and seeing their old dog dead and stuffed and propped up next to the couch. So, the next logical progression arose. Henrietta might just be a dead chicken. If a chicken doesn't even blink, scratch, poop on Bo's hand, ... I think it's dead.
We, I believe, have wound up with an interesting investigation. How many Henriettas are there or how long has the chicken been dead and stuffed? Does he keep an extra in his hat?
What it all boils down to is this. For career day the inspirational speech was given by some old geezer in a big dumb hat holding a chicken, the chicken fondling mutant also served as a mouthpiece for political support of govcorp, and a way to make a quick 14.99 was ditched under an auditorium chair.
The highlight ( and good thing) is that son really digs photography and photo journalism after a session with a pro in that area. I guess bo was just the morbid entertainment segment.

Our conclusion was that we should turn to our Lord and Savior in prayer because this storm appears to be beyond man's capacity to quiet or manage.
Therefore, O.B., Clint and I and all the executive management are declaring a state of emergency here in our Texas operations and surrounding states.
Citing the storm Rita as an emergency and the help of the Lord and prayer as the most effective resource to deal with the crisis:
God we need your help. Please intervene, bless and protect Pilgrim's Pride, bless our partners, growers and all their families and any and all effected, regardless of their location or residence, by Hurricane Rita.

Good Eats
Dutch Oliebollen
--Ingredients
1 lemon
1 sour apple*
500g flower
75g raisins*
1/2litre milk
20-25g fresh yeast (or one small package which is 7g here)
50g chopped candied peel*
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
--Preparation
-Wash the lemon, dry it, and grate the peel. Chop the lemon in half and squeeze the juice in a glass. -Peel the apple, chop it in 4 pieces, remove the core. Cut the 4 parts into tiny little pieces, put them in a bowl and mix them with the lemon juice.
-Wash the raisins, and let them leak out.
-Heat the milk in a saucepan until it's tepid.(max 40°C, so don't let it boil!)
-Crumble the fresh yeast, mix it with the sugar and 1dl (100ml!) tepid milk in a bowl, and stir until it's a nice smooth mixture.
-Mix the flower with the salt in a big bowl. Make a little hole in the centre, and pour the yeast mixture into it. After that add the (tepid)milk that is left into the same hole. Mix it with a hand blender or a spoon until it's a nice smooth mixture.
-Mix the grated lemon peel, the apple pieces (with the lemon juice), the raisins, the chopped candied peel and the cinnamon into the mixture.
-Cover the bowl with some foil and let the batter stand (rise) for about an hour on warm spot.
-Heat the deep-frying fat until it reaches 180ºC. Now, you can do the next step with a soup spoon (a deep big one). Stick the spoon in the heated fat for a couple of seconds; this will prevent the batter from sticking to the spoon. Use the spoon just as you would use it to serve soup. Make sure the spoon is filled with the batter, and carefully dip it into the oil/fat. Repeat this, but don't have more than 4 of them into the oil at the same time (this also depends on the size of your pan). Fry the 'oliebollen' for about 8-10 minutes until they are nice gold brownish.(rotate the them with a fork after 4 minutes, so the whole thing gets fried equally).
(-Repeat this step until the all of the batter is used.)
-Let the 'oliebollen' leak out on some kitchen paper before you serve them. Arrange them on a nice dish and don't forget the powdered sugar!
*If you don't like raisins, apples or candied peel, you can leave this out. After you fried the 'naked oliebollen', let them leak out, and cut them open. Now you can stuff them with whipped cream, strawberries, or whatever you prefer. (or eat them without anything, that's my favourite way, just with loads of sugar!)You can eat them hot, or cold. It's not a problem if you let them cool down; keep them in the refrigerator and just heat them the next day in your oven.
*You can also mix some nuts (hazelnuts for example)in the batter.

"Ubuntu" is an ancient African word, meaning "humanity to others". Ubuntu also means "I am what I am because of who we all are". The Ubuntu Linux distribution brings the spirit of Ubuntu to the software world.
That's right friends, xp is not the only thing that can run a computer. Your computer is stupid unless it's told what to do by an 'operating system'. Many people believe that automagicly means windows. When you buy your new computer it comes loaded with all kinds of ploys to get you to buy something or other. How many times must I say 'no' to aol? It's a sham, you're getting the short end of the stick.
Ubuntu is a linux distro that promises to be easy. Linux has often caused conniption fits in the average comp user because it looks so daunting. Not so with Ubuntu.
There is a large community as well that is eager to help you out and walk you through it. It actually doesn't look much different than what you have right now. Point and click. Some things are different but with time you'll realize that these differences offer up more flexability. More control over your machine. You should be the master of your machine, not the other way around.
So hit up the site and dl or order some cds and give it a shot. That box sitting there humming will love you for it. Remember it's stupid until it's told what to do, treat it kindly.

Unfortunately my pictures of CLUTCH all turned out very badly. There is an entry on this blog somewhere about me doing a pseudo indian wardance on my old cheap digital camera so all the pictures were taken with a cheap disposable camera and it's not very good. Regardless of the pics though, I'd reccomend to anyone who's into this music to definitely check out The Sounds of the Underground tour. It was a hella experience for sure.

Another Observation
Fireworks have much greater effect at 4 in the morning than they do at 7 at night. There's just something special about setting off a 2000 roll of firecrackers to kick off the holiday just right. Drug Czar's Office A "Federal Wasteland" That Fails To Show Results:
Study Says ONDCP's Anti-Drug Ads, State Lobbying Efforts Cited As Grossly Inappropriate And Ineffective
Washington, DC:The White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) has wasted more than $4 billion since fiscal year 1997 on ineffective media advertising, inappropriate efforts to influence state legislation, and deficient anti-drug trafficking programs, according to a report released this week by the non-partisan Washington, DC think-tank Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW).
"The White House [ONDCP] has morphed into a federal wasteland, throwing taxpayer money toward numerous high-priced drug control
programs that have failed to show results," the report concludes.
The report cites the office's $2 billion National Youth Anti-Drug Media Campaign as one of the agency's most egregious programs, calling it "an utter failure ... [that] violated federal propaganda laws, did not reduce drug use amongst America's youth, and produced no significant results." Other independent reviews of the Campaign, including those conducted by the Annenberg School for Communication at the University
of Pennsylvania, have issued similar criticisms, noting that it failed to achieve "its major objective of affecting youth marijuana use, and [it]
even showed some evidence of an unfavorable delayed effect ... on youth."
The CAGW study also criticizes the Drug Czar's office for spending taxpayers' dollars to campaign against proposed state legislation to
liberalize the medical use of cannabis. The report notes that ONDCP officials lobbied in person against several statewide legislative efforts and spent nearly $100 million to run anti-marijuana advertisements aimed at influencing voters to reject state ballot initiatives.
"[T]he office continues to waste federal resources to influence the outcome of state ballot initiatives, acting like Big Brother and infringing upon states' rights," it states. "The White House's drug office should use its resources to root out major drug operations in the US instead of creating propaganda-filled news videos and flying across the country on the taxpayers' dime."

Old School Goa
Recently a budro of mine posted up a mix of old school goa that listens and reads like a who's who of the beginning, the roots. It's inspiring and reminds me that I am now in a position to say "I was there when it all started". I was awed the first time he whipped out those crazy records with the mindblowing sounds and psychadellic covers. No words, just pure unadulterated spirit and a deep connection to something unexplored and ultimately completely universal. A journey beyond this world every sunset and an epiphany every sunrise. Early Goa guided me through many trials and I always found solace in it's beats and harmonies. It was through goa that I learned the secrets of the voice of the universe and humanities role in it. It was in those early days that I learned the true nature of the 'ecstatic experience'. Simply, only experience can describe that connection to the other dancers and the fluidity of movement that takes place as one body. It is a trance experienced and multiplied through the body movement. Goa taught me my first lessons in mind/body/spirit connection that actually meant anything and weren't just words upon a page. It was and is now real. Though the music has progressed and exponentially become more technical and advanced it is through the roots by which the tree grows. A big hug and thank you to Mel B for taking me back. He's like an old goa shaman standing there with a twinkle in his eyes inviting you in and saying "hey, wanna try something that's gonna blow your mind" and the next thing you know you're in another world. All the while he's smiling happily, sharing what he has found like a secret treasure, and your life has now taken on a new meaning. One cool brotha. So here's the link. (Austin, 18 April 2005) - A leaky aerosol chamber manufactured by the University of Wisconsin at Madison was responsible for three laboratory-acquired tuberculosis infections in a Seattle BSL-3 lab last year. The infections have not been made public until now. Nearly twenty Madison chambers exist across the US and in India, New Zealand, and Northern Ireland. While tuberculosis is not a biological weapons agent, the accident underscores the inherent dangers when working with dangerous disease agents, and the grave safety risks of the US biodefense program, which is encouraging more scientists to deliberately aerosolize bioweapons agents in Madison chambers and similar equipment.
The Madison chamber incident is the latest to be reported in a series of US lab accidents, including infections and/or mishandling of anthrax, tularemia, and pandemic influenza. At the encouragement of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Madison chambers have been purchased for use in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, North Carolina, Georgia, Texas, Colorado, Wisconsin, and California, as well as India, Northern Ireland, and New Zealand. More of the suspect chambers may be in use; but the legal counsel of the University of Wisconsin at Madison has refused to answer questions and has been reluctant to promptly answer requests filed under Wisconsin open records law. the story goes on

Our nation is to blame as well for great bloodshed of innocents: mothers, children, fathers, who had nothing to do with our tragedy, who's only desire is to live a free and peaceful life. Our leaders have taken these dreams and turned them into a railroad train to destruction and many of the citizens of this nation go along so willingly into that fray, into that insanity as if it is from god himself that they be ordained the only ones free, that we must kill all who oppose our idea of freedom while wealthy individuals line their pockets with money paid for in blood, disease, hunger, poverty, and the large scale destrucion of our very planet. While those very same lead their own lambs to the slaughter. Souless, greedy, insane, they are not heroes but rather the villains and we would do well to remember that.

Our Undivided Attention
The speed of the Earths rotation is approximately 25,000 miles per 24hrs. This is the simple answer and doesn't go into tangents and real details but it serves my simple mind (* and would only lead good folk much brighter than I to long explanations as to why I'm an idiot). Imagine we are all on a carousel. Each individuals exact perception will be different at any given moment. The horse rider will see one blur while the one on the jack ass will see differently yet we all know that once we get off we can stand around and look at the carousel for what it is. At that moment of recollection we relegate a commonality of experience and combine our various views into one nice round ball of aquiescence (*hey language is a living thing). Yes, the spinning was nice and slow and peaceful, yes the blurs of carnival lights were a trip, yes the wooden horse hurt posterior as it bounced up and down, but those horses are pretty and we all loved going in a circle of stimuli. It has a great homely feel to it because we've been taught that from day one. Now, what about the freak cave child who doesn't know what the hell that thing is? Maybe that child will just get on for the hell of it out of a sincere and deep focus towards adventure. They get off and state " that was dumb" They then proceed to tell this group of noble carnival adventurers that the entire idea is one of stupidity because real horses could take us much farther than in some silly circle. The group turns and decides this is an abnormality, thus below recognition. Not only do they ignore this poor cavechilds observation but decide to deride it publicly. They promote the idea that going in a circle on the merry go round is our only real option for any sort of excitement. Anyone in their right mind absolutely knows that is the height we can reach, point blank, nuff said, deal with it. The cavechild doesn't even recognize these blase' limitiations and continues to commit the faux pah doo doo on their ideals. He says " hey , here's a real horse, we just went a gallopping over the countryside and you won't believe what we saw", ok maybe he grunts but with deep communication and a true desire to appeal to their sense of escape. He's trying to simply share something wonderful. "Look, we don't have to go in a circle", that's all, but it's percieved as a grave threat. The group decides this must not be. No-one can surpass our experience here, and it becomes a hidden agenda, unbeknownst even to them. They commit themselves to the destruction of this myth of free roaming equestrians out of a sense of loyalty to to the common ideal, the sanctimony of group conscience (whatever that may be). They hunt him down and kill him and his stupid live horse. Though they feel a sort of sadness at the whole event they eventually convince each other it was in the best interests of the group. Now they can sleep at night knowing there's always the thrill of going in circles on wooden jackasses. welcome to my world.

Hallucinogenius
Just got a copy of Hallucinogen live at the DNA lounge. Dig it, headphones don't do it justice, nor does the surround sound. I can only imagine what it must have been like to be on that floor. Hallucinogen was one of the original responsible for a different trek in my life. That crazy, spilling over with energy music that defied any real definition. The moment I heard it, I felt it and was bit by the bug.

Nails
Thanks to Bush Black Out Referrers for throwing up a list. There are good folk in the world and I was happy to be a part of it. Posted here is the message that the 15 year old young man wrote which accompanied the blackout page of this blog. I post it as a matter of record and as a read into how, I believe, many of our teenagers are even feeling.
At noon, on January 20th, George W. Bush will be sworn in as President for his second term, and although few realize it, this will bring the downfall of Civil Liberties, Democracy, Equal Rights, and Freedom of Speech. On this grave day, we will mourn for the loss of these things which we as Americans have taken for granted, we will mourn for all of America, even those who do not share our thoughts, although they may not realize it, they lost too.
Mourning For America is not a "gang", nor will it participate in any "gang-related activities", we are merely a group of students expressing our deep sadness that the majority of the American people would choose to throw away the things that make our country so great. The ancient Egyptians and Romans used black for mourning, as do most Europeans and Americans today. Honoring this tradition, we will wear all black.
It was proven in the election of 2000 that George W. Bush cared little for Democracy, and in the 2004 election there were pieces of information concerning voting fraud everywhere, we do not want a President who will "cheat" in order to make it to the top.
We call upon each and every person to participate in a silent protest against the inauguration of George W. Bush. We are all just single nails, hammered into the pieces of wood that make up a now corrupt society, but if all the nails refuse to take part in society, how will it stand?
Trust that there are many kids who feel this way. They have to pay for the mistakes of weak individuals. They have to deal with what this world is becoming and are slammed with the task of doing something about it. I greatly respect and admire anyone in their teens who stands away from the consumerist little robots that the corporations are trying to create. I give them all supreme kudos for taking a stand. After stopping a pageant whose happy ending is Indians choosing white children to be their king and queen and converting to Christianity, and activities in the Children's Indian Village that included Picking the Pocket of the Drunken Injun, SCAR has tried for 3 years to end the Krewe of Chasco and its float, a private club of 130 to 150 white civic and business leaders who dress up in authentic American Indian regalia, ride in nine regional parades on a float leased using taxpayers' dollars, while drinking free booze, playing loud rock 'n roll, and shaking their buckskinned assets--all to honor Indians, they say. On their website at www.kreweofchasco.org, they recently had a photo of a blonde woman wearing a Plains Indian headdress with the caption: Even SQUAWS can be braves in the Krewe of Chasco! When the former president of the Krewe addressed a Chamber of Commerce luncheon, the Tampa Tribune reported him saying, "I want you all to buy guns and kill AIM--I'll bury them for free." He owns a funeral home.

Corporate Avenger
Corporate Avenger's new album is due out in January of '05. Some lyrics from past endeavors. Native American Stream 8 , the Hip Hop/Rap stream has been getting alot of play around my house lately. I've always been a fan of some of the more obscure, underground rap that doesn't get much airplay. The reason they don't get airplay is one of marketability, popular rap is cornered into a small holding pen that consists of rapping about absolutely nothing with only the occasional exception to the rule. Gold, money , and ho's sells quite well to your average pimple faced suburban white kid. I find it ironic though that some of the fathers of the rap movement like Chuck D are also some of the more eloquently spoken individuals within the music industry. Perhaps it's because they broke the mold a long time ago and continue to look towards breaking the genre, now , back to it's roots in a movement by the people. Litefoot, Shadowyze , and the likes of Rollin' Fox carry a definite inner rythym and the ability to freeflow from a quick intillect. Real true rap and freeflow ryme is an art that takes a special skill. Sure, a dunce can stand up with a mic and spout about the generic subjects that have become rap in the big industry, but a true rapper has something to say, and it's poetry to hear it.

Shwag for the masses
Society For Change seems to be heating up these days. The concept is simple, be pro-active. Effect change in various ways and they don't have to be something of a grand nature. Simple actions on a personal level, I believe, truly can make a difference in the bigger picture. As long as some sort of action is taking place and growing then the waters are stirring. We have no idea of how many neurons have fired in the past five minutes through the billions of minds on the planet which effected perhaps even the slightest change in perspective. Some people all it takes is one slight moment of question and the chain reaction starts. They then see something else, and something else, and so on. Not everyone changes overnight. The simpler, smaller scale, personal changes, serve to help support the bigger ones. ... and so it goes.

High and Mighty
Recently a small group project in Texas Govt over the spending on MJ had to be cancelled. The four of us had decided to investigate the overall state spending on MJ prevention, break it down and then show how the money could be used to further education if it were to be legalized across the board. While it was a noble idea, we simply just don't have the time to complete the project in the time frame we've been given.
Cannabis has indeed existed for a few thousand years. It has been held as a sacrament and an invaluable natural resource. The propoganda against the plant here in the US is mind boggling yet I believe with underlying motives for sure. The question to ask might be to wonder why in the midst of an anti-drug furor, there are no references to alcohol. Why is the foremost contributor never mentioned in the propoganda campaigns. Here's the abridged version of my theory:
The makers of alcohol have deemed that it won't happen. That much is a given in a climate where politics and corporate interests are so easily meshed together. More importantly, alcohol is certainly physically addictive. The alcoholic suffers an insidious existance that can even lead to death if withdrawal is not treated properly. Much like the tobacco industry, the alcohol industry has a nation of consumers who simply can't just decide to not buy it because they are addicted to it. Further, alcohol is not easy to make on your own. It takes a great deal of effort and knowledge to set up a working still. Alcohol is a divider, not a uniter. The myth is that the drink is a way to reach comradery, that it helps you to relax and have fun. More in truth is it's ability to divide the psyche into two seperate behaviors. A split personality of sorts that prevents any growth from it's use. The first two reasons are obviously one of profit and greed mongering whatever the cost. The last serves as a societal control mechanism.
Now look at Cannabis. It is not physically addictive. If allowed, marijuana can be grown quite easily and there is a ton of resources for the amateur to become a homegrower. Based on the same market principles mentioned about alcohol, it would fail as a monopoly. There are simply too many choices for the MJ user. Marijuana is not a divider. Contrary to the vast array of myths that have been perpetuated about it's deadly effects, it actually works as an enhancer. Simple thought processes gain whole new levels of perspective and emotional content gains depth. More often than not, a group of people sharing the MJ experience become more intimate friends. Thus, it would fail as a control mechanism because it serves to enhance communication rather than break it. One of the greatest threats to a body trying to control society is honest communication between it's people.
As this is the simplified version I mention hemp only in passing. The importance of it's numerous uses is highlighted in vast bodies of information. The same principles of market control apply.
Now, I'm not advocating that everyone go out and get stoned this instance. I'm not saying that MJ is the solution to our problems because it's not. The idea that if we all just got high everything would miraculously fix itself is a grand myth as well. I advocate legalization of Cannabis because it's criminalization is a glaring defect in our so called 'land of the free'. I'd advocate it even if I didn't smoke.

I spent several attempts at writing a by line for the picture that I posted previously. Some of them included references to Jesus in jackboots, southbound end of a northbound donkey, brainwashing, orwellian doubletalk, etc... but I couldn't quite come up with anything that would fit nicely there. I do want to lay the disclaimer though that I don't despise all christians. I just think that the 'moral majority' is rather un-christian like. So, I sent the picture off to my brother and he gave me a description: "It's really funny yet really scary at the same time". Thanks Mel.
He's also coming down with his wife for Thanksgiving. My bro's a talented psytrance musician so I always look forward to hearing some kick ass tunes. Plus, we're having a vegetarian thanksgiving feast. I can't wait. Let the feasting begin!
